Moving Files to the Trash Instead of Removing in CLI

gvfs-trash can be used to move files to the trash rather than removing directly with rm command. -To install gvfs-trash,

$ sudo apt-get install gvfs-bin

-How to use

$ gvfs-trash <file or directory path>

e.g.

$ gvfs-trash delete_this.txt

-For convenience, open the $HOME/.bashrc file and put the following line.

alias trash=gvfs-trash
